In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation has established a local breast cancer support group aimed at providing assistance to survivors and those newly diagnosed. The initiative responds to the ongoing realities faced by many women who live with breast cancer every day.
An organizational meeting took place on October 29 at the Foundation office, where founding members toured the current and future "In My Closet" locations and discussed essential services the group will offer to its members. The group aims to create a sisterhood that fosters support and shares experiences among those navigating the journey of breast cancer.
The inaugural meeting is set for Tuesday, November 12, at 5:30 PM in the Medical Plaza conference room, located at 113 Airport Rd, Sulphur Springs. The three-story Medical Plaza is situated on the southeast corner of CHRISTUS Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs, with the conference room located on the first floor to the left.
The first meeting will embrace the theme of “thankful,” welcoming all breast cancer survivors and individuals currently battling the disease. The group also extends its invitation to male breast cancer patients and survivors, as well as women facing other female-related cancers, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring no one fights alone.
For updates on the breast cancer support group and additional resources, individuals are encouraged to follow the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation on Facebook or Instagram.
