Organized Car Burglary Gangs Targeting Hopkins County Residents, Sheriff Releases Photo of Suspect's Vehicle

Suspected vehicle involved

The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a series of organized car burglaries linked to suspected gangs using stolen vehicles to commit these crimes. One vehicle of interest is a stolen 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck, which may bear scratches from being driven through a barbed wire fence during the theft several months ago. Authorities believe the truck's license plates have likely been changed to stolen plates from another vehicle to evade detection.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any sightings of this vehicle or any suspicious activity. The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office emphasizes the potential danger posed by the suspects, who are considered armed and dangerous. They are targeting vehicles to steal cash, weapons, and other valuables.

Anyone who observes the suspicious vehicle or has information related to these crimes is encouraged to call 9-1-1 or the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office at (903) 438-4040.
