Man Arrested in Grayson County in Cyber Tip Case with Assistance from National and Local Agencies

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with a cyber-tip case involving child pornography, thanks to collaboration with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Dallas Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Adom Carbonell, a 31-year-old Sherman resident, was identified as the account holder responsible for downloading and sharing child pornography, resulting in multiple charges related to the possession and distribution of illegal content.

The case was one of 144 cases recently reassigned to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) by the Dallas Police Department’s ICAC Task Force at the beginning of October. Working closely with NCMEC, GCSO investigators were able to confirm Carbonell’s involvement through his activity on a messaging account containing child exploitation material.

The arrest of Carbonell illustrates the vital role of inter-agency collaboration in addressing these serious crimes. Once this group of cases was reassigned to GCSO, Sheriff Tom Watt and the executive team promptly prioritized the agency's resources for the thorough investigation of these cases, leading to timely arrests such as Carbonell’s.

“The combined efforts of our investigative team, NCMEC, and the Dallas ICAC Task Force have been crucial in bringing this case to justice,” stated Sheriff Watt. “Our office is committed to protecting vulnerable populations and working alongside agencies at every level to pursue accountability for these offenders.”
