Katy Residents Charged in Eastern District of Texas for Federal Mail Theft and Bank Fraud

Two individuals from Katy, Texas, have been charged with federal violations related to a mail theft scheme, according to U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs.

Brevin Lee Pogue, 26, and Dayana Amador-Enamorado, 24, were indicted by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Texas on October 9, 2024. They face charges of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to steal U.S. mail and to possess stolen U.S. mail.

The investigation into stolen mail in the Eastern District of Texas began in April 2023, uncovering a scheme that involved the sale, shipping, and alteration of stolen checks and other financial instruments across the country. The Parker Police Department arrested Pogue and Amador in August 2024 at an Airbnb in Colorado as part of the investigation.

If convicted, both Pogue and Amador could face up to 30 years in federal prison.

The case is being investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service across its Fort Worth, Denver, and Houston divisions, along with the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office in Colorado and the Parker Police Department.

A federal indictment is not evidence of guilt, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
