Cibolo Fire Department Mourns the Loss of Fire Apparatus Operator Jorge Mora

Jorge Mora

With profound sadness, the Cibolo Fire Department announces the passing of Fire Apparatus Operator (FAO) Jorge Mora on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Mr. Mora joined the Cibolo Fire Department in February 2022, bringing with him over seven years of professional experience in fire service. He was a bright and rising member of the department, awarded Firefighter of the Year in 2023. Recently recognized for his professional development, Mr. Mora obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Fire and Emergency Service Administration in June 2024. He is remembered for exemplifying professionalism, camaraderie, and a deep passion for serving both the public and the Cibolo community.

Fire Chief Mario Troncoso expressed, "FAO Mora embodied the true spirit of firefighting, selflessly serving the Cibolo community with unwavering courage and compassion. Recognized for his steadfast commitment, Jorge served as both a hero to the community and a valued member of the Cibolo Fire Department, where his fellow firefighters became his second family. His greatest joy, however, was his loving family—his wife and children—whom he loved unconditionally. His deep devotion to family and fellow firefighters fueled his unwavering dedication and generous spirit, inspiring a legacy of compassion and service."

Jorge Mora is survived by his wife and two young daughters. The City of Cibolo requests privacy and respect for Mr. Mora's family as they navigate this unimaginable loss. The community is encouraged to keep the family and the entire Cibolo Fire Department in their thoughts and prayers.
