The University Interscholastic League (UIL) has voted to suspend Palestine-Westwood Panthers Head Football Coach Richard Bishop from all regular and post-season games for the current season. Bishop will remain on probation for the 2025-26 school year but is permitted to participate in football activities next year.
The decision follows allegations that Bishop planned to record the signals of the Panthers' opponents. Despite the suspension, the undefeated Panthers will not have to forfeit any games. In addition to his role as head coach, Bishop serves as the Director of Athletics for Westwood Independent School District.
