On October 21, 2024, Harrison County deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at a residence on Spruce Drive in Harleton, Texas. The complainant stated that her vehicle had been taken while she and a companion were walking from the bus stop. The suspect was described as a white male dressed in all dark colors and accompanied by a black dog.
Upon arrival, deputies entered the stolen vehicle's details into the national database. Later, the complainant contacted law enforcement again to report that she had found her car parked back at her home. She stated that the suspect returned and gave her a thousand dollars, which he had originally stolen from the vehicle. The suspect explained that he had borrowed the car to attend a meeting with his probation officer and expressed a desire to avoid any further issues. After the encounter, he disappeared into the nearby woods.
