A 32-year-old caretaker, John Ezra Milton Hayes of Marshall, has been arrested for sexually assaulting his disabled patient. The arrest followed a tip from the victim’s brother, who had installed in-home cameras to monitor the victim's care due to a mental disorder.
According to court documents, the victim's brother noticed that the cameras had been tampered with. Upon reviewing the footage, he discovered evidence of Hayes sexually assaulting the victim.
Hayes has been charged and is currently held on a bond of $60,000. The investigation is ongoing.
