On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 16, 2024, Hopkins County deputies responded to a domestic violence call on County Road 4131 in Cumby, TX. Upon arrival, they found the female victim at a neighbor’s house, showing visible signs of abuse, including bruising, facial abrasions, and injuries consistent with choking.
The victim stated that the violence began when she informed her live-in boyfriend, 46-year-old Uriel Rebollar, of her intention to leave him. The situation escalated, with Rebollar allegedly tying up the victim, choking her, and hitting her with the blunt end of a hammer.
Rebollar fled the scene, taking the couple’s five-year-old son with him. Greenville Police located Rebollar at a Home Depot, where he was taken into custody with the assistance of Hopkins County deputies. The child was safely returned to his mother.
Rebollar has been charged with aggravated assault of a family member with a weapon causing serious bodily injury, unlawful restraint exposing to serious bodily injury, and assault on a family/household member by impeding breath/circulation. His bond is set at $300,000.
