Vehicle Burglary Spree Hits Hopkins and Surrounding Counties, Authorities Urge Caution

In the early morning hours of October 14, 2024, multiple vehicles were burglarized in the southern part of Hopkins County. The suspects took a variety of items, including firearms and tools.

Hopkins County Deputies and Investigators have reviewed several videos related to the incidents and believe this burglary spree may be the work of a criminal organization responsible for similar crimes in counties to the south of Hopkins.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating and urges anyone with information to contact them at (903) 438-4040.

Meanwhile, the Rains County Sheriff’s Office has reported that the same group has now been seen burglarizing vehicles in Rains County. The suspects have also been spotted in Wood, Van Zandt, and Hopkins counties. Rains County authorities are encouraging residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and lock their doors to prevent further thefts.
