On Saturday, October 12, 2024, Hunt County Deputies executed a warrant for the arrest of a fugitive wanted out of Van Zandt County. Robert Murrel Daniels, a resident of Wills Point, was taken into custody. He was wanted for evading arrest, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer during an incident on January 16, 2024, when he was initially arrested by Wills Point Police Officers.
Daniels' bond has been set at $75,000; however, his release is currently on hold due to two additional warrants for a Motion to Revoke Probation related to previous convictions for improper relationship between a teacher and a student and indecency with a child involving sexual conduct, dating back to December 13, 2019. He will be extradited to Van Zandt County.
