On Wednesday, October 9th, Greenville Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop when the driver sped off in an attempt to evade officers. After a brief pursuit, officers were able to force the vehicle to a stop, and 25-year-old Xariah Monae Phelps of Greenville was taken into custody.
During the arrest, officers discovered Phelps was in possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. She has been charged with evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone. Phelps's bond has been set at $11,000.
