Texarkana Police Arrest Two Suspects in Aggravated Robbery of 86-Year-Old Man

Danny Williams and Dequeener Mitchell

The Texarkana Police Department arrested 61-year-old Danny Williams and 34-year-old Dequeener Mitchell on charges of Aggravated Robbery following an incident that occurred shortly before noon on Monday.

Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 11:30 a.m. regarding an injured man in the 500 block of Blake Street. Upon arrival, they discovered an 86-year-old victim with a large cut on his head. The victim informed officers that he had been robbed by two individuals after he offered them a ride to Blake Street. According to the victim, once they arrived at the location, Williams, who had been sitting in the back seat, attempted to choke him with a baseball bat. When the victim resisted, Williams struck him on the head with the bat. Mitchell then took the victim's wallet and stole all the cash inside.

The suspects fled the scene on foot, heading north toward Mockingbird Lane. Within minutes, officers located and arrested Williams and Mitchell a few blocks away. The stolen money was found in Mitchell's purse.

Though the victim sustained a gash and bruising on his head, he declined further medical treatment after being attended to by LifeNet paramedics at the scene.

Williams and Mitchell were booked into the Bi-State Jail, with bonds set at $150,000 each. Both suspects remain in custody.
