On October 8, 2024, a traffic stop conducted by Henderson County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) Narcotics Investigator Jonathan Daille on State Highway 31 West resulted in the arrest of two men for drug possession.
The occupants of the vehicle were identified as 53-year-old Brunswick Lakeith Jones from Tyler and 58-year-old Willie Edward Thomas from Athens. During the stop, both men were found in possession of suspected methamphetamine, while Thomas also had suspected fentanyl.
Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Henderson County Jail. Thomas faces charges for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession, with a lengthy criminal history involving drug and weapons offenses. Jones has been charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance and has a prior record that includes arrests for drugs, family violence, and assault.
