On September 23, 2024, officers from the Prosper Police Department conducted targeted patrols in response to a series of motor vehicle burglaries reported over the previous week. During their investigation, officers identified a black Chevrolet Corvette as a suspect vehicle. While patrolling the Coit Road and Frontier Parkway area, an officer spotted the Corvette, which immediately fled at a high rate of speed, prompting a vehicle pursuit.
The chase continued into south Dallas, supported by a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) helicopter. Upon reaching Dallas, the suspects abandoned the Corvette and fled on foot into a nearby residential neighborhood. Despite a thorough search by officers and a Dallas Police K9 unit, the suspects were not located.
During the investigation of the abandoned vehicle, officers confirmed that the Corvette had been reported stolen. The vehicle was subsequently recovered and returned to its owner. The Prosper Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is conducting further follow-up to identify the suspects involved in this incident.
The Prosper Police Department expressed gratitude to the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Dallas Police Department for their assistance during the pursuit. Residents are reminded to secure their vehicles by removing valuables and locking doors, as many recent burglaries involved unlocked vehicles.
