Church Engulfed in Flames in Paris, Texas, as Graffiti Raises Concerns

The Paris Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 11:08 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, in the 1600 block of NE 13th Street in Paris. Firefighters arrived to find a single-story, wood-framed church consumed by flames. Despite efforts to control the fire, the building was a total loss.

Photographs of graffiti found on some exterior walls were taken and sent to the City of Paris Fire Marshal, who also responded to the scene. Given the church's involvement and the graffiti, the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office was called in to assist with the investigation.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
