Wolfe City Urges Residents to Prevent Sewer Line Clogs and Damage

The City of Wolfe City is experiencing ongoing issues with clogged sewer lines and damaged sewer pumps, prompting officials to issue a warning to residents. Items such as grease, oils, paper towels, wipes, feminine products, and other non-flushable materials are causing significant blockages in the sewer system, leading to backups in homes and expensive repairs at the city’s sewer plant.

Even items labeled as "flushable" are contributing to the problem by getting stuck in the lines or damaging the sewer pump motors. Additionally, construction materials like mule ropes have been found in the system, further complicating repairs.

City officials are urging residents to only dispose of human waste, minimal toilet paper, and water in the sewer system. All other items should be placed in the trash to prevent further damage and maintain the efficiency of the city's sewer infrastructure.
