The Temple Police Department is currently investigating a traffic accident that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. At approximately 4:14 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024, officers were dispatched to the 21000 block of SE HK Dodgen Loop following reports of a head-on collision.
Upon arrival, officers found two vehicles that had collided. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second individual was transported to the hospital but was pronounced deceased upon arrival by Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey.
The Temple Police Department's Traffic Unit is on site conducting the investigation, and the area will remain closed for several hours.

UPDATE: The Temple Police Department has identified the victims of the traffic accident as 66-year-old Robert Groh from Lorena, TX, and 38-year-old Gustavo Rodriguez Jr. from Belton, TX.
