On September 25, 2024, at approximately 1:40 a.m., the Longview Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 600 block of Dean Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully involved structure, with flames visible coming from the doors, windows, and roof.
Due to the house being vacant and previously suffering structural damage from an earlier fire, crews employed a defensive tactic to combat the blaze. The structure was already scheduled for demolition prior to the incident. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The Longview Fire Department deployed three fire engines, two ladder trucks, one ambulance, and four support vehicles, totaling 21 personnel to manage the situation.
