Authorities have arrested a student believed to be responsible for making terrorist threats against Big Sandy High School. On Thursday, September 26, 2024, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a terroristic threat made at the school. A Sergeant was on the scene conducting his daily walkthrough when he was notified by school staff about the incident.
School staff and the Sheriff’s Office quickly began investigating the situation. The student responsible for the threat was immediately identified and taken into custody without incident by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
While the name of the arrested student has not been released, officials have confirmed that appropriate charges will be filed. The investigation is ongoing.
