Greenville Police Department Introduces Mental Health Unit Officers

The Greenville Police Department has introduced Officers Jacob Henderson and Rose Wiley as the new Mental Health Unit (MHU) officers. The MHU is committed to assisting individuals and families experiencing mental health crises within the community. The unit will help connect individuals with mental health resources, provide officers with specialized training in de-escalation and crisis intervention, and work with mental health professionals and community partners to ensure appropriate responses during mental health emergencies.

Officers Henderson and Wiley bring extensive training and experience, including certifications in crisis intervention, de-escalation, mental health first aid, and law enforcement peer-to-peer support. Officer Wiley also holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling.
