This afternoon, the Texarkana Police Department responded to a call regarding a child not breathing at an apartment complex in the 3300 block of Nichols Drive. Upon arrival, officers found a 5-year-old boy unresponsive and immediately began CPR. The boy was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
The investigation is in its early stages, and detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have stated that additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
“Our hearts go out to this little boy’s family and friends who are now dealing with this terrible loss,” the police department said.
