On Tuesday, September 25th, around 2:15 p.m., Longview Police responded to a reported shooting in the 700 block of Ethel Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators determined that the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation between two family members, which escalated into gunfire. The other individual involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. The investigation is ongoing, with updates expected as more information becomes available.
