A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning, September 24th, prompting a response from the Terrell Police Department. The incident occurred at approximately 4:23 AM in the 500 block of W. Moore Ave.
Upon arrival, officers and firefighters found a male pedestrian unconscious on the ground. While emergency responders provided assistance, the man stopped breathing, and CPR was administered. CareFlite arrived shortly thereafter, and the male subject was transported by ground to Baylor Scott and White in Forney. He was pronounced deceased at 5:04 AM.
The deceased pedestrian has been identified as 63-year-old Stanley Duke Blevins of Terrell. The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident, a 2005 Nissan Titan, was identified as 61-year-old Danny Kearns, also of Terrell.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is ongoing.
