On Saturday, Paris Police officers responded to a hit-and-run incident in the 2400 block of Simpson Street. The victims reported that John Michael Daniels, 38, had intentionally struck their vehicle before fleeing the scene. One of the victims had an active Emergency Protective Order against Daniels, which prohibited him from making contact with her. Despite this, the victim stated that Daniels had been sending her threatening text messages throughout the day.
Officers were unable to locate Daniels immediately after the incident. However, on Sunday, they made contact with him in the 900 block of Pine Bluff Street. Daniels admitted to intentionally ramming the victim's vehicle and fleeing the scene. He was arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Authorities booked him without incident.
