On September 15, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Rusk County Sheriff's Patrol Shift D initiated a traffic stop on Rusk County Road 201 for reckless driving. During the investigation, deputies discovered that a 12-year-old juvenile was operating the vehicle, seated atop a cushion and jacket to see over the steering wheel. In the front passenger seat was 39-year-old Holly Marie Riehl of Henderson.
Deputies found open alcohol in Riehl’s possession and observed her attempting to discard a plastic bag containing an off-white powder that later field-tested positive for cocaine. Rusk County Child Protective Services was notified, and the juvenile was released to a family member.
Riehl was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Endangering a Child, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. She is being held in the Rusk County Jail on bonds totaling $40,500, set by Justice of the Peace Pct 5 Jana Enloe.
