On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, a hit-and-run accident occurred at the intersection of 30th NE and Houston Street in Paris. Witnesses reported that the driver of the fleeing vehicle abandoned it in the 3700 block of Lamar Avenue.
Responding officers found the injured victim at the initial accident scene, who required medical treatment. Another officer later located the abandoned vehicle in the 3700 block of Lamar and traced the driver, identified as Serenity Cortasia Sanders, 25, to a business in the 3600 block of Lamar Avenue.
Sanders admitted to being the driver involved in the hit-and-run and was subsequently charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, a felony.
