On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, deputies from the Grayson County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence involving a firearm and body armor. The caller reported that her ex-husband, Scott Schussler, was preventing her 17-year-old son from leaving the house. Schussler is not the biological father of the teenager.
The caller stated that Schussler was armed with an AR-style rifle and wearing body armor, and she reported hearing him make a threatening statement. The 17-year-old managed to leave the residence safely with the help of a relative.
After a period of time, Schussler voluntarily exited the house and was taken into custody without further incident. Following his arrest, the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) of the Grayson County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at the residence and located body armor.
Scott Schussler was charged with two counts of Possession of Body Armor by a Felon. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time. The Grayson County Sheriff's Office encourages anyone with further information to contact them.
