On September 16, 2024, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Longview Police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 1500 block of Alpine Road.
The incident occurred when a Ford SUV traveling southbound on Alpine Road struck a pedestrian who failed to yield the right of way and walked into the roadway. The pedestrian, identified as 62-year-old Johnny Ray Johnston of Longview, was transported to a local hospital by Longview EMS, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
