On Saturday at approximately 3:38 p.m., the Longview Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred in the 100 block of W. Edgefield. Upon arrival, officers discovered a teenage victim who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries from gunfire.
It was determined that a verbal altercation escalated into an exchange of gunfire. The individual responsible for the assault had left the scene before police arrived.
During the investigation, detectives located the suspect at a residence in Harrison County, just outside the city. The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Alejandro Gonzales, was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and transported to the Harrison County jail.
