Princeton Juvenile Faces Charge After Falsified Abduction Report

On September 7, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Princeton police officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of De Berry Road to respond to a juvenile who reported being abducted and assaulted. The juvenile was taken to a local hospital and interviewed by detectives from the Princeton Police Department (PPD). According to the juvenile, the abduction occurred at Princeton ISD's Jackie Hendricks Stadium, after which she was driven to a nearby residence.

PPD detectives, working with the Princeton Independent School District, reviewed surveillance video from the stadium during the reported time of the incident. The footage shows the juvenile walking away in the opposite direction from where she claimed the abduction took place. Additional video from the alleged abduction location showed no evidence supporting the juvenile's report.

As a result of the investigation, the juvenile now faces a charge of falsifying a report to a police officer.

Authorities are asking residents of the Park Trails and De Berry Estates neighborhoods to review their security camera footage from September 7, 2024, between 7:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. for any suspicious activity.

Since this is an ongoing investigation, no further details will be provided at this time. Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact Detective Loya at the Princeton Police Department at 972-736-3901 or submit a tip via TIP411 by texting PPDTIP and their message to 847411. Information can also be submitted through the City of Princeton website.
