Texarkana Police Arrest Two Women for Theft at Central Mall

Mikaela Phillips and Kylie Pettit

On Saturday afternoon, the Texarkana Police Department received a report of theft at Dillard's in Central Mall. Two women were accused of stealing clothing items valued at $257. The suspects left the scene before Officer Tabitha Smith arrived, but she obtained descriptions of the women and their vehicle from surveillance video. Officer Smith shared the images with other officers on duty.

Approximately three hours later, Officer Aaron Wafford observed the vehicle as it entered a business parking lot in the 2300 block of Richmond Road. He conducted a traffic stop, and Officer Smith, who arrived shortly after, recognized the women as the suspects from the video.

During the search of the vehicle, officers discovered an Aldi's bag containing several pieces of clothing with tags still attached. It was determined that some items were stolen from Dillard's, while others were taken from two other Texarkana stores.

Kylie Pettit, 27, of Oklahoma City, and Mikaela Phillips, 23, of Bellevue, TX, were arrested and charged with Theft of Property. Both were booked into the Bi-State Jail with a bond set at $3,000. As of this report, they remain in custody.
