On Tuesday afternoon, 38-year-old Fredrick Duckett was arrested following a four-vehicle crash he caused on W. 7th Street at Jarvis Parkway.
Sgt. Jake Klar was on the scene attending to the drivers involved in the crash when he was informed that Duckett had fled on foot down South Bishop Road. Klar located and apprehended Duckett just before Terry Street. Duckett was taken into custody without incident but claimed he could not move due to his legs being incapacitated despite having just run over a quarter mile.
Duckett was initially taken to a hospital for evaluation and was later transported to the Bi-State Jail after being medically cleared.
Duckett faces a felony charge for Leaving the Scene of a Collision Involving Personal Injury, as one of the other drivers sustained injuries. His bond has been set at $15,000. As of this report, Duckett remains in jail.
