On Saturday night at 10:27 PM, Paris police were dispatched to the 3000 block of Lamar Avenue following a report of a suspicious person. The caller described an individual dressed in black trying to break into an apartment through a patio door. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a screen had been removed from a locked window.
The police contacted the apartment owner, who was out of town and arranged for a friend to provide a key. Inside the apartment, officers found Austin Lee Doyal, 25, from Lamar County, and Qualen Dejuane Bell, 22, from Granbury. Doyal, the ex-boyfriend of the apartment owner, had previously been reported for assaulting her and placing a tracking device on her vehicle, which led to concerns of further violence and harassment.
Doyal and Bell were arrested and charged with Felony Burglary of Habitation. Additionally, Doyal faced a charge of Felony-Stalking.
