Texas Health Resources is expanding its services in Kaufman County with the construction of a new full-service hospital and medical office building in Forney. The new facility will be located on 50 acres along Highway 80 and is set to be the first full-service acute care hospital in the city. Construction is anticipated to be completed by 2027.

Barclay Berdan, CEO of Texas Health, highlighted the expansion's importance, noting, “To better meet the community’s increasing needs, we are excited to offer more services and access points throughout Kaufman County, including constructing the first hospital in Forney.”

The new hospital will feature an emergency room, operating suites, a labor and delivery department, and various imaging services, providing comprehensive care for the growing population. The facility is designed with future expansion in mind to accommodate further needs.

Alongside the hospital, Texas Health Resources will build a new medical office building on the same campus. This expansion is expected to add several hundred jobs to the local economy.

Forney Mayor Jason Roberson expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome this facility to Forney, as it will provide our residents with top-quality healthcare right here in our city.”

In addition to the new hospital, Texas Health will continue to support the community through existing care options, including Quick Care video visits, Texas Health Physicians Group practices, and nearby facilities such as Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Texas Health Hospital Rockwall.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman, which has served the community for over 40 years, will continue its investment in local care advancements. Recent improvements include unit renovations, enhanced diagnostic capabilities with 3D mammography, and new equipment.

The organization has also contributed over $1 million in grants to Kaufman County over the past five years, addressing issues like mental health, social isolation, and food insecurity.

Berdan concluded, “North Texas continues to flourish and as the leading health system in the market, we intend to continue investing in new ways to serve our community in Forney and beyond.”
