Traffic Stop Yields Meth and Marijuana in Sulphur Springs; Two Arrested

Adrianna Burleson and Christian Collins

On September 1, 2024, at approximately 9:35 p.m., Hopkins County deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep with expired registration and defective tail lamps in Sulphur Springs. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana. The driver, Christian Collins, admitted to not having insurance, while the passenger, Adrianna Burleson, disclosed the presence of burnt marijuana cigarettes.

During the search of the vehicle, Burleson produced a pipe and removed items from her undergarments, including a clear baggie containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and a baggie containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. Both occupants were placed in double-locking handcuffs and advised of their rights.

A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed additional evidence, including a glass pipe and a Kool-Aid container with a crystal-like substance. The clear baggie containing the crystal-like substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine, weighing approximately 2.248 grams with packaging. The evidence was photographed and sealed into evidence bags.

Collins was booked into the jail for possession of drug paraphernalia, while Burleson was booked for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, between 1 and 4 grams. The case was processed with no further contact.
