Investigators with the Nacogdoches Police Department are currently on the scene of a homicide that occurred early Monday morning in the 800 block of Fulgham Street. Officers were dispatched to the area around 1:00 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots. While officers were on their way, another caller reported that someone had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim outside, suffering from at least one apparent gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The victim’s name is being withheld until family members are notified.
Investigators have made an arrest in connection with the incident. Jalen Boughton, 23, of Nacogdoches, has been charged with murder. He is currently being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
