On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at approximately 11:59 a.m., Sherman Police Dispatch received a 911 call reporting two children found unconscious in a swimming pool. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and police responded to the 1800-block of West Washington Street. Upon arrival, EMS began life-saving measures on the children, both of whom were three years old.
The children were transported to a hospital for further treatment. Despite the efforts of emergency responders and medical staff, both children tragically did not survive. The Sherman Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and is continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details have been released at this time.
