On the morning of August 27, 2024, a targeted drug investigation was carried out by the Polk County Narcotics Division in coordination with the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Criminal Investigation Division in the Yaupon Cove subdivision of Onalaska, Texas. The investigation aimed to address and mitigate drug-related activities within the community.
During the operation, investigators conducted a "knock and talk" investigation at a residence located at 117 E. Yaupon Oak Drive. Upon arrival, Ronald Kelly Walston, an occupant of the residence, answered the door while holding a smoldering marijuana pipe. Investigators requested and obtained consent to search the premises.
The search of the residence led to the discovery of marijuana and methamphetamine. Additionally, another individual present at the scene, Toni Marie Pierce, was found to have a water bong, which is commonly used for smoking methamphetamine, and a baggie containing methamphetamine.
As a result of the investigation:
- Toni Marie Pierce was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, in an amount greater than 4 grams but less than 400 grams.
- Ronald Kelly Walston was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance in an amount less than 1 gram.
Sheriff Lyons and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are dedicated to addressing and eradicating drug-related issues within the community. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in illegal drug activities in the area.
