Farmersville Fire Department to Stop Non-Emergent Lockout Responses Starting September 1

The Farmersville Fire Department announced that it will discontinue non-emergent response to locked-out vehicles and properties starting September 1, 2024. The department clarified that it will still respond to emergency lockout situations. These emergencies include instances where a child, adult, or animal, who cannot care for themselves, is trapped inside a vehicle or property, and the caretaker is unable to gain access.

For lockout calls that do not meet the emergency criteria, they will be considered non-emergent, and the department will not respond. Residents experiencing non-emergent lockouts are advised to contact a locksmith to unlock their vehicle or property.
