UPDATE: The red Chevy truck that was a person and vehicle of interest was located, interviewed and was very cooperative. He was found to have no involvement in this case but was able to confirm some relevant timeline information due to being in the area which aided in the investigation.
Ultimately, the child was located by a passerby in the Park Street area who stayed with her until police arrived. The child was reunited with her parents yesterday evening. It has been concluded that this was a case of the child leaving voluntarily and there is no evidence that she was in any danger by any other person.

The City of Nacogdoches is requesting public assistance in locating a missing 12-year-old girl. Roselyn Navaeh Smith, a medium-skinned Black female, was last seen in the area of Tangleberry Street and Tanglewood Street. She was wearing a black shirt with gold letters reading "QUEEN," blue jean shorts, black shoes, diamond stud earrings, and was carrying a backpack, crossbody bag, and a clarinet.
If you see anyone matching this description or have any information, please call 911 immediately and, if possible, keep an eye on the individual until officers arrive.
Investigators with the Nacogdoches Police Department are also seeking the owner or driver of a red Chevrolet pickup truck that was seen in the vicinity of Tanglewood Circle around 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 22nd. This vehicle may be connected to Roselyn's disappearance.
