On August 15, Paris Police officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 1700 block of E. Washington St. The victim reported that he had been given a ride by several school acquaintances. During the ride, 17-year-old Ivan Jackson Howard asked to borrow the victim’s phone. After using it, Howard refused to return the phone and fled the vehicle.
The victim chased Howard and, upon catching up, attempted to retrieve his phone. Howard assaulted him and implied he was armed. Knowing Howard often carries a handgun, the victim refrained from further confrontation. Howard was later located, interrogated, and evidence gathered led to his arrest on robbery charges. He was processed without incident.
