On August 13, 2024, Samuel Wayne Hood was apprehended after several weeks on the run. Hood, wanted for Failure to Appear (FTA) on an Intoxication Manslaughter charge and a warrant from Texas Pardon and Parole, was taken into custody. The Intoxication Manslaughter charge stems from an arrest by the Department of Public Safety on September 7, 2023, following a fatal crash.
The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office extended their gratitude to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Office for their critical assistance in Hood’s capture.
