On August 12, 2024, 55-year-old Harrell Johnson of Gladewater pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was sentenced to 35 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for each charge, with the sentences to be served concurrently.
The charges stemmed from an incident on August 13, 2023, when a State Trooper conducted a traffic stop in the New Diana community, near Baseball Loop Road. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, the trooper discovered plastic baggies, a digital scale, and 17.93 grams of methamphetamine.
