Nacogdoches Police Arrest Seven Suspects on Capital Murder Charges in July Homicide

On Thursday, August 8th, the Nacogdoches Police Department, in collaboration with multiple agencies, executed seven Capital Murder warrants for suspects linked to the homicide on July 30, 2024, in the 400 block of W. California St. All seven suspects are in custody, with one apprehended in Louisiana. The arrests were made without incident.

The suspects charged with Capital Murder are:

  • Raul Molina Lopez, 20, Nacogdoches, TX
  • Nathan Joshua Sauceda, 21, Nacogdoches, TX
  • Santiago Mendoza, 19, Nacogdoches, TX
  • Gerardo Christopher Ocon, 21, Nacogdoches, TX
  • Lionso Antonio Torres, 19, Nacogdoches, TX
  • Eder Torres, 17, Nacogdoches, TX
  • Martin H. Montalvo, 19, Lufkin, TX

The investigation suggests the suspects planned to rob individuals at the W. California St. residence. Witnesses and evidence indicate that at least three of the suspects used firearms during the robbery, resulting in three individuals being struck by gunfire. A significant number of firearms were recovered during the searches and arrests.

This case is noted for involving the highest number of suspects ever in a Nacogdoches Police Department murder investigation. Efforts to return the suspect apprehended in Louisiana are underway. Over 1,534 man-hours have been dedicated to this investigation. The Nacogdoches Police Department extends gratitude to the U.S. Marshals, Homeland Security, ATF, Nacogdoches Sheriff's Dept., Lufkin Police, Center Police, U.S. Postal Inspector, and the Nacogdoches Combined SWAT Team for their crucial support.
