Marshall Police Resolve Late-Night Standoff with Suspect Arrested

Trayvion Montgomery-Horn

Last night, just before midnight, the Marshall Police Department received an urgent call from a resident in the 600 block of Slone Dr. The female caller reported that a relative had fired two shots inside the residence and was acting erratically. As the first patrol officer arrived, the caller was seen escaping through a window and informed that her nephew was in a bedroom with her 86-year-old mother.

The patrol officer made contact with the suspect, identified as Trayvion Montgomery-Horn. Despite initial attempts to communicate, Montgomery-Horn closed the blinds and began yelling on the phone. Officers engaged with him through a window while ensuring the safety of everyone involved.

The Marshall Police Department Crisis Negotiations Team and Special Response Team (SRT) arrived at the scene. Negotiators maintained dialogue with Montgomery-Horn and confirmed that the elderly female in the room was conscious and alert, indicating she had not been harmed. The SRT prepared a response plan in case the situation escalated.

After approximately three hours, negotiators and the SRT successfully resolved the situation peacefully. Trayvion Montgomery-Horn was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office. He was booked on charges of Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm, Continuous Violence Against the Family, and Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

Paramedics from the Marshall Fire Department, staged nearby, checked the suspect and the two female residents, confirming that everyone was unharmed.
