On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, just after midnight, a Mount Pleasant Police officer was patrolling through a city park. The officer made contact with a vehicle, which was inside the park, after the park had closed. As the officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, he found two individuals identified as a 41-year-old Irvin Shell of Mobile, Alabama, and also a male juvenile. Circumstances during the initial contact led the officer to believe the juvenile was possibly the victim of a criminal act.
Upon further investigation, Shell was arrested for Sexual Assault of a Child, Online Solicitation of a Minor, and Solicitation of Prostitution of a Minor.
Shell was booked into the Titus County Jail where he is currently being held. Bond has not been set.
The case is still under investigation and additional charges may be filed.
