Paris Police Report for Wednesday, August 7th

  • Evading Arrest: An officer attempted to stop a vehicle with an expired registration in the 2300 block of Bonham St. The driver, Kacey Dean Langston, did not stop and continued west on Bonham St. to the 3400 block where he eventually stopped at a residence. Langston admitted to being aware of the officer's attempt to stop him. He was arrested for Evading Arrest in a vehicle, a felony, and booked without incident.

  • Credit Card Abuse: Officers investigated a report of a stolen debit card being used for purchases at a local business. Surveillance video provided a description of the suspect and vehicle. On August 8, 2024, at approximately 03:20, the suspect vehicle was located at a local motel. The driver, Eric Steven Lomelin, admitted to using the stolen credit card without consent. The illegally purchased items were recovered. Lomelin was arrested for Credit Card Abuse of an Elderly Individual, a felony, and processed without incident.

  • Public Intoxication and Drug Possession: Officers responded to the 3800 block of Lamar regarding a subject, Jeremiah John Rater, in crisis and acting peculiarly in traffic. Rater appeared under the influence of a substance. He was arrested for Public Intoxication and found to have controlled substances in his possession. Rater was also charged with possession of a controlled substance (X2) and booked without further incident.

  • Drug Possession: A vehicle was stopped in the 400 block of SE 17th for an equipment violation. A consensual search of passenger Eddie Dean Roberts revealed methamphetamine concealed in his clothing. Roberts was charged with possession of a controlled substance and taken to county jail.

  • Fraud Investigation: A fraud incident was reported in the 10 block of NW 27th. The victim, in the process of purchasing a house, paid a down payment to a suspect who did not own or have authorization to sell the property. The investigation is ongoing.
