On Monday, August 5th, Hopkins County Deputies responded to a call at a residence in Sulphur Springs regarding an assault involving Larry Cesar Rosalez and his father. Upon arrival, deputies found both individuals in the front yard. The father had a small laceration above his left eye but refused medical assistance. Rosalez had blood on his shirt and left arm, which he claimed was not his, and he also declined medical attention.
The incident began when Rosalez visited his father’s residence, leading to an argument over the ownership of a house and a truck. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, with Rosalez striking his father multiple times in the face, resulting in the observed laceration. Rosalez admitted to hitting his father, and deputies identified him as the primary aggressor.
Rosalez was taken into custody and secured in the back of a patrol vehicle for transport to the HCSO Jail, where he was handed over to jail staff without incident. Rosalez was charged with Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Member, with a bond set at $5,000.
