In the early hours of Thursday, August 1, at 2:57 AM, dispatch received multiple reports of shots being fired around Lions Park. A resident from the 1000 block of Calloway Street also reported that her home was struck several times by gunfire. No injuries were reported inside the home.
Marshall Police officers swiftly responded, locating several shell casings in the area. The investigation led to a residence in the 1000 block of Twyman Street, where four individuals voluntarily exited the house. Several detectives from the Marshall Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, Crime Scene Division, and investigators with the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime & Narcotics Task Force supported MPD patrol in this early morning investigation.
A subsequent search warrant was executed on the Twyman residence, leading to the discovery of multiple firearms, significant quantities of cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, and other related evidence.
The following individuals were arrested as a result of this incident:
- Gerrold Maze, 49, of Marshall, charged with Theft of a Firearm; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon; two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance (POCS) PG 1 >= 4gr < 200gr; POCS PG2 >= 4gr < 400 gr.
- Kisha Carlisle, 26, of Marshall, charged with Theft of a Firearm; two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance (POCS) PG 1 >= 4gr < 200gr; POCS PG2 >= 4gr < 400 gr.
- Rmund Hall, 19, of Marshall, charged with Theft of a Firearm; two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance (POCS) PG 1 >= 4gr < 200gr; POCS PG2 >= 4gr < 400 gr.
- Darrieon Russaw, 17, of Marshall, charged with Theft of a Firearm; two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance (POCS) PG 1 >= 4gr < 200gr; POCS PG2 >= 4gr < 400 gr.
Assistant Chief of Police Jeff Boyd stated, "These arrests underscore our continued commitment to keeping the citizens of Marshall safe and strategically using all of our available resources to identify and arrest individuals engaged in unlawful behavior."
